Deal and Corporate Counsel

"Clients and referral partners know me for three things: lightning fast and clear communication, as their corporate quarterback, and as a dealmaker."

Corporate Quarterback Dealmaker Lightning Fast, Clear Communication
01

Corporate
Quarterback

Nearly 400 companies have trusted Wes as their Corporate Quarterback and corporate counsel, and for good reason. He's the first call when something comes up, the one who puts the plan together and sees it through.

He coordinates with outside counsel and other professionals as needed, but the client never has to manage that. That's his job.

02

The
Dealmaker

Over his career, Wes has closed upwards of 400 M&A and commercial transactions with a nearly perfect close rate, the lone exception being a gym deal that COVID had other plans for.

Wes' approach to M&A and commercial transactions is simple: find solutions, not obstacles. Too many lawyers without deep deal experience treat every issue as a roadblock, and deals die because of it.

He keeps things moving. Working constructively with all sides, finding creative paths forward, and never losing sight of the goal: getting the deal done while protecting his client.

That philosophy earned him the role of preferred lawyer for several business brokers in Western Canada, as well as Business Finders Canada, a Kelowna-based business brokerage.

03

Lightning Fast,
Clear Communication

Clients know Wes for responding quickly, to emails, to calls, to whatever comes in.

Wes also takes pride in distilling complicated issues and concepts into simple, digestible information, so clients always feel informed, comfortable, and confident in the decisions they are making.

It comes down to a simple principle: he treats people the way he wants to be treated. He doesn't like being left hanging, so he doesn't do it to others.

Beyond the
transactions.

At the centre of everything is his family. Wes' wife Caia and their two boys, Henry and Archie, are his world. Watching them grow, being present for the small moments and the big ones, that's what matters most.

His battle with debilitating Lyme disease reshaped how he sees life. When everything is stripped away, what remains is simple: the precious moments, the people you love, and taking care of each other. That perspective never leaves him.

Outside of work and family, Wes trains hard, in the gym and in Muay Thai. As he continues his recovery from Lyme disease, he's set his sights on competing in Muay Thai, because if you're going to do something, you do it all the way. He snowboards whenever the mountain calls. He plays with his kids as much as humanly possible. And he plays notoriously difficult video games, because he's always believed that if it isn't hard, it probably isn't worth doing.
